Shuddering at Shutters

We’ve been in our bungalow since May 1st. At first, I didn’t have the energy to do much of anything. But now, I’m on a roll. I owe it all to modern medicine!

We finished the kitchen, started working on the basement, organized the home office, bought some furniture for it since it was empty and turned it into an homage to our amazing honeymoon in Bora Bora.

The biggest thing we did, which Naaman thought was dumb to worry about, was changing the color of our shutters and front door. I kept looking at them thinking, “They need something.” I’m always trying to spice things up with the color red. What is it with the color red? I am infusing my entire house with it. I must calm myself. It’s just I’ve been in this black hole for awhile and now I want to paint my world all kinds of colors to remind me that everything is all better now. I knew it would be. It always works like that.

So, on Saturday Naaman and I whipped out the paint brushes (again) and painted the shutters and front door “Fireweed” red. It made an amazing difference and I can’t wait to show everybody in person. Our house doesn’t blend in anymore. I hate blending in. I want it all out there, “Hey, look at me. I’m here damn it and don’t you forget it!” I’m really getting into this nesting phase. We are definitely proud homeowners!

Levi and I will come see your house in person while we’re visiting St. Joseph. You can give us the proud homeowner tour.
