Brigham’s Birthday Party Details & a Giveaway!

I was so hoping we would be in our brand new house for Brigham’s first birthday party. So hopeful, in fact, that I sent out his cute customized invitations with our new address on them. Boy, did that come back to bite me in the ass.

I am sad to inform you that the party had to be canceled. Our current house is in such disarray that it couldn’t happen here. I called around looking for a restaurant with a big enough room but they all wanted me to pay a lot of money on top of buy food. I could tell my blood pressure was rising with the stress of both moving and planning a party.

Then we found out that our new closing date (thank God we actually have one!) is on Monday, May 2nd the day after his party and his actual birthday, mind you! I basically had to choose between a party and my sanity – and whadayaknow? My sanity won for once =) No big party this year. My sisters are flying into town and I just decided we would all go to dinner and celebrate in a more intimate setting. I’m actually pretty excited about it being more casual. Don’t get me wrong, I am usually a party animal. But our baby is turning one! It’s a big deal no matter how big or small the party is!

I do have to show you the invitation because I think it is SO cute! We will still be using the theme – just on a much smaller scale.

The Frog Prince theme is PERFECT for Brigham and here’s why. From the time he was born I have called him Briggy “Frog legs”. His legs are long and lean and they look like a frog’s legs when he is lying on his back. Adorable! So I went with it.

These invitations, as well as Landon’s first birthday invites, were created by my fabulous friend and sponsor, Jenni of 9 Designs. Jenni is offering my readers the chance to win one custom card design! See, I told you she was fabulous! Jenni is creative, fast and very easy to work with. This credit can be used now or later. Think of all those special occasions that require an invitation or announcement and the possibilities are endless!
