It’s not over yet

I almost published a post last week that was just . . . horrible.

It was basically me telling myself what a loser I am for losing my job and saying that I wasn’t good enough for God to love, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, I was having a really bad day.

I actually had it scheduled to publish and then at the last minute I remembered this post.

POSITIVE

It was supposed to be the one word I concentrated on for 2012. Where did all that confidence in myself go? Where has all my hope gone?

So I lost a job. So what! It’s happened before and I’ve come out the other side okay. I always have.

God is trustworthy. He will never fail me. And no matter how much I think he can’t possibly love a person as broken as I am . . . He does love me. Immeasurably.

I’ve got some big decisions to make. So much so that my head hurts from all the stress. But no matter what I choose, whether it’s right or wrong, life will go on.

So I’m not going to publish that post where I was being totally shitty to myself.

I’m tired of negative-talking myself into a severe depression.

I’m going to try to remain positive instead. Checkity-check myself before I wreck myself.

2012 can still be a great year. It’s not over yet.

    Who you are in Christ:

You are God’s child (John 1:12)
You belong to God (1 Corinthians 6:20)
You are assured all things work together for good (Romans 8:28)
You are confident that God will perfect the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6)
You have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)
You are chosen before the creation of the world (Ephesians 1:4, 11)
You are given God’s glorious grace lavishly and without restriction (Ephesians 1:5,8)
    You have redemption (Ephesians 1:8)
You are forgiven (Ephesians 1:8; Colossians 1:14)
    You have purpose (Ephesians 1:9 & 3:11)
    You have hope (Ephesians 1:12)
    You have peace (Ephesians 2:14)
You are completed by God (Ephesians 3:19)
You can have a new attitude and a new lifestyle (Ephesians 4:21-32)
You are not alone (Hebrews 13:5)

Kristal, thank you for posting these! I love Ephesians 4:21-32. Isn’t it amazing how the Bible has verses for every season we walk in this life?

    • Kimberly says:

Love, love love Krystal’s verses for you!
Here are a couple more…. two of my favorites:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6

Also, here’s a book I discovered that I love and which really helps keep me focused on the positive… “Key to the Laws of Attraction” by Jack Canfield (co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul).

So proud of you for catching yourself and choosing to find your positive spirit instead of allowing yourself to be dragged down by the negative spiral…. so much easier said than done. Put it all in His hands, Molly… sending lots of love and hugs across the interwebs. ;-)

:) I am also glad you found your word again ! It’s just a job and everything happens for a reason…so don’t stress! It will all work out! And it sounds like it is already working out for the better!!

  5. I like Kristal’s comment. You are so very worthy of God’s love Molly! Keep up the positive self talk, and snuggle those boys of yours, you will get through this.

Thank you, Kiara. Sometimes it’s so hard to see the good in NOW. But I’m trying really hard to appreciate every second of every day. It’s difficult when your future is so unknown. But you’re right. I will get through this.

  6. That’s RIGHT! We’re only about 1/2way through 2012!

I love this! If I only had the self control to not hit publish sometimes. Hee Hee. I’m glad you were able to see God’s hand in the midst of the chaos. He knows you lost that job, and I’m sure He got something new for you.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19)
