31 Days of the Shred: Day 26

Day 26 -

Plugging right along. Level three is already getting a little bit easier. I have to push myself every night. Even when it hurts I say to myself . . .  push through, Molly. You can DO this!

I think this work out is hard. So I can’t imagine what Crossfit or P90X or Insanity are like. I’ve heard they’re much harder than the 30-day shred. Maybe I’ll find that out if I try one.

I’m finding that I really like working out in the comfort of my own home. I can go get in bed right after my workout. And it saves time. No driving 15 minutes to the gym and back. So I might try another DVD program.

One thing that is frustrating is I still haven’t lost any weight. In fact, I’ve gained weight! I’ve worked out 19 times in one month and . . . nothing. It sucks. I still have my belly and I don’t feel any “tighter” like many people experience after the 30-day shred. But I technically have 13 days left since I skipped seven. Maybe at the end I really will feel better.

Only one way to find out and that’s to KEEP GOING!

hey molly, i have followed your blog (more like reading it on daily basis) and just want to comment on your shred days. first of all, you are doing fantastic. second of all, do not get all consumed up with your weight. what i found out after i exercise, my weight does not go down easily, but i build muscles. and then i stop exercising for almost a month now, as in no cardio and occasionally lifting weight, my weight drops 2 lbs BUT i don’t see any difference in my belly. as in, the fat doesn’t go away, weight lost is maybe my muscles.

don’t get disappointed, the point is you are having a new start. since you love it, keep on going. also don’t forget to watch what you are eating. it also helps. i’m not a big fan of insanity (it involves LOTS OF JUMPING, i felt like a monkey afterwards), i love p90x although it requires you to have some weights, but it’s more engaging to me than insanity.

in all, i wish you all the best. keep on going, don’t let the weather and busy life stops you from exercising (it’s currently a rainy week here in toronto). you will see result if you stick to it. btw, your boys are so handsome.

Keep going, Molly! I started with the 30-day shred and then when my brother and his wife started doing P90x, I decided to try it too. It totally paid off!!! I had a ton of compliments from my family and (friends who saw the pictures) when we were at the beach in August and I was only two months into it. I ended up finishing up but not 100%. I felt so much better when I did it, the thing about P90 is that the time commitment is major, compared to 30-day shred being so quick (which is awesome). Having done both, I really think the ideal thing to do is complete p90x, and then cut back to 3-4 days a week of the 30-day shred plus whatever activities you do with your family on the weekends. That is my goal for starting in January since I know the holidays are going to be hectic with travel for our family.
Best of luck to you! You can do it!
