Birthday Fun

Landon’s birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese was so fun! Since I bought the birthday package they treated him like he was super special. They told us that he would have the chance to get into the ticket blaster and grab tickets. When they said it I assumed that Landon would never get in there and do it. But my boy proved me wrong! Just look at him. He’s having the time of his life!

New Life

My new niece, Charlotte, arrived yesterday and I was quick to get to the hospital to meet her! She is precious and perfect and holding her did not give me baby fever at all. Oh, wait. That last statement isn’t true.

Little Picassos

I bought the boys canvases and paint and let them get creative on a Sunday. Am I the only mom who has a panic attack after the paint has been released to their kids? It took me a little while to just chill and let them get messy, which they totally did.

Brigham was my “I want to use every color” artist. Landon was my “I’m only going to use two colors” artist. I didn’t want to influence them with what I thought was the “right” way to paint. I wanted to let them loose and see what they came up with on their own. Brigham currently calls all colors “bu” for blue, which I think is the cutest ever.  Landon only used green and black. When he finished I asked him what it was and he said it was a sea monster! Oh, yes. I can see it now, buddy! My little Picassos :)

sunshine-y winter

I keep waiting for Old Man Winter to blow in and bring us snow. To force us inside for the remainder of the winter. But it’s not happening this year. And I am oh so thankful for the amazingly mild weather we’ve been having. We’ve had 50 degree (and a couple of 60 degree!) days in January. Unheard of for a Missouri winter. I am so grateful for the chance to get out of the house without tiny runny noses and little cloud puffs hovering outside our mouths when we breathe.

We stepped out for a little sunshine one Sunday in January. I had to pull the boys’ spring jackets out of the storage bin. Their winter coats were too heavy for this beautiful day.

Landon, always wanting to climb high on everything and give his mama a heart attack.

Brigham’s smile and dimple are just the best ever. He runs and plays with reckless abandon.

There are big tunnels at this park and the boys were racing each other. Brigham was winning this time.

Being able to play outside in January is a welcome change. Both boys were soaking it up.

I know it would be better for the polar bears if we had an icy winter like usual.

But I can’t help loving a sunshine-y winter. It has been good for our little family’s soul.

Onward and upward!

Wordless Wednesday: Deadlines

Don’t interrupt him. He’s working.

By the way. This was not set up. I went to the bathroom and found him like this when I came back.

Dirt & Lace

We’ve been exploring our new neighborhood. The boys recently discovered a huge pile of dirt. We’ve been having fun digging into the ground and looking around to find earth’s smallest treasures.

Wordless Wednesday: Preschool

September 6, 2011.

Landon’s first day of preschool. Not a tear was shed (from him anyway).

He’s actually holding up three fingers because he’s three. Not throwing out a peace sign, which would have been pretty cool too.
